Payday Mission That Gives You Easy Money
Payday 2 is one of the best looter shooters available, thanks to its massive selection of varied heists. There are heists that cater to everyone's preference of playstyle, whether that be guns blazing, or a little more on the subtle side.
With such a wide array of heists available, it can be a daunting task to find which are worth your time. Not playing these heists would be criminal.
10 GO Bank
GO Bank is a straightforward, small bank heist that can be tackled either stealthily, or upfront. It is designed after the Counter-Strike map de_bank, and there are several references to the series in the map with Bain's dialogue.
In GO Bank, you are tasked with getting into the vault via keycards or by drilling through to rob the deposit boxes. The bank itself is small scale, but there are many open areas outside, making snipers particularly troublesome on this heist. After the heist, depending on how you approached it, you will either escape in a van or through a twisting and maze-like sewer system. It's a great heist for beginners as you don't need to have a deep knowledge of the game to pull it off - a simple starting point.
9 Prison Nightmare
Prison Nightmare is a heist that was added on November 4, 2016, to celebrate Halloween. The heist has a completely different atmosphere to others, transforming Payday 2 into a horror game.
The heist is set in an abandoned prison, and you will find yourself being toyed with by a giant Cloaker. The heist will have you spinning a wheel that will determine your fate, and you must then survive the waves determined by the wheel whilst keeping the drill active. Prison Nightmare is great if you get bored of the usual robbery heists and want to add an element of surprise into your game.
8 Framing Frame
Framing Frame is a heist that takes course over three days. Although each day can be tackled however you wish, you get the best experience if you try completing them stealthily. The heist has you and your crew steal several paintings to sell to a senator, who you then frame.
The first day will have you break into the art gallery and steal the paintings to sell the next day. If you didn't get away stealthily on the first day, then there's a 76 percent chance that you will get ambushed by police, making it harder to transport the money to the van. The final day has you breaking into the senator's apartment to either plant bags of cocaine, if doing it as a stealth mission, or to leak information about his illegal arms trade if doing a loud playthrough. If you approach the final day loudly, though, you will lose out on stealing large amounts of gold which would help fill out your bank account.
7 First World Bank
First World Bank is a large bank heist returning from the first game, that you can complete in either manner.
The First World Bank heist has you carrying out a series of well-planned actions to make the job go smoothly. Stealth will have you robbing the bank with no one suspecting a thing, walking out as if nothing happened. Attempting it head-on, however, will have you make a dramatic escape by using C4 to blow a hole in the wall and escaping through the neighboring building. It's a simple heist, but one that takes advantage of the large, open spaces, with snipers setting up across from the bank shooting at you as other enemies come in through the roof.
6 Slaughterhouse
Slaughterhouse is another heist from the first game that has been brought back for Payday 2.
The heist has the gang ambushing an armored van during a convoy, which they then break into at a slaughterhouse. The slaughterhouse is dark and grimy, feeling like it's straight from the Saw franchise. Butchered pigs hang up on rails, creating an extremely gritty atmosphere that makes the heist a joy to play.
5 Alesso Heist
The Alesso Heist is one of, if not the most, colorful heist in Payday 2. It takes place in a large concert arena during a performance by the Swedish DJ Alesso.
Alesso is a beautiful looking heist with the neon aesthetic and use of blue, purple, and pink. The Alesso heist can be completed stealthily if you wish, or you can go in guns blazing. The arena is massive, and it can be difficult to find mission objectives and equipment on your first attempt. The heist should be played by everyone that enjoys a neon Blade Runner-esque color pallette, or the musician Alesso.
4 No Mercy
No Mercy is a crossover heist with Left 4 Dead, which explains the origin of the zombie outbreak.
No Mercy was the last heist from Payday: The Heist to come back in Payday 2. The heist has you headed to Mercy Hospital from the first campaign in Left 4 Dead to obtain an infected blood sample that, of course, will end up causing more trouble than it was worth. A certain amount of the heist can be done in a stealthy manner, but regardless of your actions, the police will eventually turn up, and you will have to engage in a large firefight. The heist is particularly great if you have bodies set to not disappear, as they will pile up to an almost comedic level in the narrow corridors.
3 Shacklethorne Auction
The Shacklethorne Auction was released as part of the Icebreaker event, which also introduced the playable character, Joy.
The gang in the Shacklethorne Auction infiltrate a black-tie auction to recover an artifact needed to assemble a device. The heist takes place in a beautiful mansion that is full of priceless antiques. It doesn't need to be done as a stealth mission, but if you want to get the most out of it, you should aim to do it quietly, as it is a more enjoyable experience that creates an atmosphere similar to a heist movie - not unlike Ocean's Eleven.
2 Birth of Sky
Birth of Sky is a heist that was added in 2015 as part of the Point Break Heists DLC, to promote the 2015 remake of Point Break.
The heist has you pull off a brazen robbery several thousand feet in the air, ejecting pallets full of cash out of the plane before jumping out to recover them. The heist perfectly encapsulates the thrills of the Point Break films, and the verticality of the heist makes it stand out immensely from the others. You can't help but feel thrilled as you hurtle towards the ground after your score.
1 Hoxton Breakout
Hoxton Breakout sees you rescuing one of the original Payday Gang members, Hoxton, from incarceration.
There is no option to do Hoxton Breakout stealthily and is instead an exclusively head-on mission, in which the crew frees Hoxton before they set out on finding the person responsible for his arrest. Hoxton is one of the best characters in Payday 2, and in this heist, the Payday 2 story expands on a massive scale.
